My name is Kim Fahle Peck. I have a B.A. in English and Theatre from Virginia Wesleyan College, an M.A. in English from the University of Delaware, and a PhD in English from Old Dominion University, where my dissertation, which won the 2019 Computers and Composition Hugh Burns Dissertation Award, examined students’ and instructors’ interactions, experiences, and sense of community in synchronous online courses. I am currently the Writing Center Director at York College of Pennsylvania. I am active in regional and international organizations, having in the past served as the Web Coordinator for the Mid-Atlantic Writing Center Association (MAWCA) and several roles with the Global Society of Online Literacy Educators (GSOLE), including the editorial team for Research in Online Literacy Education journal, Marketing/Communication Chair, and facilitator for the Online Certification Course. Currently I am serving as the conference chair for the Online Writing Center Association (OWCA) 2023 conference. I am also a Co-Editor of Young Scholars in Writing. My research interests include writing centers, online writing instruction, and undergraduate research.
